I was deeply honored on 22 December to spend 2 hours with Vince Martin and Brangwynn Christina Ravenheart, on the Talk With Vince Show.

Vince and Brangwynn

Vince and Brangwynn

After knowing about this for several months, when it got down to the last minute, I didn’t have time to post before the show to let everyone know about this! If you visit the link below and scroll down a little, you’ll see the links to the show

http://vegasallnetradio.com/Shows/TalkWithVince.html

We covered a lot of topics, although I think Vince wanted most to know about “nuns and sex”, so that one kept popping back up!

I’m sitting here trying to find the words to express how deeply touched I am by the connections with Vince and Brangwynn. I feel like I’ve found a couple of friends I haven’t seen in ages, and that day was one of the most powerful I’ve experienced in this life.

If you’re able to find the time to listen to the archive, I hope there will be something there that you enjoy and find meaningful.

Many thanks to Vince, Brangwynn, and Erma, and in some ways, most of all to Arianna, for suggesting me as a guest to Vince.

Wishing you all a wonderful 2012!

Namaste.

another view out my window…

I’m drawn to this image because of the many layers/dimensions… The frost on the glass, the window screen, the layer of trees beyond, the bank of clouds in the sky…

All impermanent, in different ways… And all transition due to different causes…

As I create this post, the frost has already disappeared, replaced by a new veil of rain falling.

hurtling towards enlightenment

In some ways it stuns me to consider that it was two years ago that I made this post.

At that time, I had not dreamed that I would really meet so many wonderful people, learn so much, and experience so much (more) change.

I wished for it, but I didn’t dare dream it might really happen.

Now I understand that when we simply hold fast, all that we desire will arise for us.

Many heartfelt thanks to all of you who have joined my journey(s) and given me so much love and friendship.

I’m honored to be here with you.

Namasté.

Last night, when I arrived home from work at around 11:00 pm, I found some remarkable gifts/works of art on my window! It was tricky to clearly capture the textures of the frost (focus and light seemed to have a mind of their own), but the floral patterns were so remarkable, the technical details didn’t seem to matter…

It was also impossible to choose only one photo to share, so I hope you enjoy these several… And Happy 12/12/12!

At WordPress.com, our mission is making publishing democratic — accessible and easy for anyone, anywhere. And while anyone can start a free blog here, not everyone can access upgrades (like going ad-free or enabling custom design) because of limits on traditional payment networks.

Today, that changes: you can now buy WordPress.com upgrades with bitcoins.

PayPal alone blocks access from over 60 countries, and many credit card companies have similar restrictions. Some are blocked for political reasons, some because of higher fraud rates, and some for other financial reasons. Whatever the reason, we don’t think an individual blogger from Haiti, Ethiopia, or Kenya should have diminished access to the blogosphere because of payment issues they can’t control. Our goal is to enable people, not block them.

Bitcoin is a digital currency that enables instant payments over the internet. Unlike credit cards and PayPal, Bitcoin has no central authority and…

A few days ago, rather than drive 10 miles to hike 4 miles, I decided just to walk the 2 miles into town.

As I crossed the bridge over a stream that I pass nearly every day, I relished that this time I could actually stop, take my time, and look down into the stream… I did a double-take!

Amidst the sepia monochrome of rocks, silt, branches, and fallen leaves… Well, see for yourself!

I stood there for a moment, rather awed to ponder how a keyboard (and a well-muddied one) could end up in a stream bed. It seems to have camouflaged itself, as if to hide its secrets.

Now, as I write, it occurs to me that this keyboard symbolizes several themes converging in my life lately.

Sometimes all we can do is marvel and appreciate, when the reasoning escapes us.

Here’s wishing you a day that lifts your spirits, totally beyond reason!

(This is my personal blog, most fit for general public consumption… If you’d like to check out my more esoteric interests, you can find out more here… Cheers!)

For some of us, it takes years of chasing an UnHoly Grail to learn that the real nectar floats on the breeze, free to all, if we can only quiet our rowdy minds long enough to notice it.

Thank you, posthumously, Linds Redding, for one more voice of sanity.

I just read enough of this excerpt from Linds’ essay to wake up again (it also links to the full article)…

It’s Not Worth It

…and remember and understand just a little better, why I’m here. Why we’re here. On Earth… In Pagosa… Or anywhere.

Linda was an ad exec. I was an architect. The two are quite similar, these days. I’m grateful to have stepped out of the madness when I did. No regrets.

Here’s wishing to you the drunken stupor of caring for oneself!

From what I hear from the “Old Locals” (I refer to myself here as a “New Local”…), The Snow has been late this year in Pagosa. In fact, it’s anticipated arrival seems to have triggered more anxiety than the Presidential Elections, since so much of the local prosperity seems to hinge on whether or not the Wolf Creek Ski Area is open. And for that, it seems you need snow.

I think my friends Mark and Heidi have struck on a new snow-making technique, and it seems to have worked. I’ll call it: LLASS (Lend Leslee A Snow Shovel). I went by their place last night to pick it up, and, voilá… arrives The Snow!

Now, by my standards, I’d call this more of an Atlanta-style snow, but I’ll wait until I get into town later today to see if the Old Locals even consider this The Snow.

Just the same, I admit my relief that my introduction to Pagosa’s version of the magical, awe-inspiring crystals has been this gentle so far.

I smiled to myself as I made my morning coffee, to notice that the way I feel now reminds me of going into labor with my son… I had been hearing for months, from others, about what it was going to be like. Finally, the day came when I actually felt my own contractions. It still took someone telling me, “Yes, THAT is a contraction”.

So now, I’ll just spend the day watching the slush melt, and wait to discover what it takes before an Old Local tells me: “Yes, that is The Snow“.

Here’s hoping that November finds you all safe and happy!
