Finally getting around to posting some photos of Pagosa Springs! Today ends Week Three… Still settling in, still loving it!

Enjoy!

Country Road 119… It’s sort of like my driveway… San Juan mountains in the distance.

One foggy morning last week…

Main Street – Highway 160 – at dusk

That same evening… A beautiful sunset at the lake in New Town. This is a fairly typical sunset… Always dramatic!

Met some friends for a bite to eat in Old Town, by the San Juan river… That’s my friend Jason and me.

One of the hot springs on the River Walk in Old Town, at night… The “mound” is mineral deposits from the water. Based on the smell, I’d say it’s mostly sulphur…

A glowing end to the weekend’s balloon rally!

Earlier in the week, hiking with Mark Kimmel up on the Continental Divide trail… He’s standing on one of the Wolf Creek ski runs. We saw the first snow of the year (I learned what “corn snow” is!), although it turned to rain quite quickly.

Wolf Creek Pass… Looking west towards Pagosa, on that same misty day. Just breath-taking… All from a volcano, 3 million years young.

For the beginning of what will hopefully be my last day of driving for a while, here is a little momento of Texas for us all to enjoy! Today makes Day 4 on the road… Towing a very heavy trailer trends to kinda slow things down a bit… Jason and Zoe are wonderful traveling companions, and it’s nice to have company this time! This trip carries a more “practical” energy about it for me… That’s why you haven’t seen many photos our posts… Or, as Jason observed last night: “Please don’t take this the wrong way… But whatever patience you have, goes down with the sun, doesn’t it?” I think that’s about the nicest way anyone has ever said that to me… Yes, I admit that driving 55 mph towing a ton of “possessions” for four days has a less-than-patience-inducing effect on my personality… Bless Jason’s patience! Will try to post a group photo later today… Wish us luck, for getting through the mountains this afternoon! I look forward to catching up with you all more soon!

On the way back to Atlanta, to visit & get the last of my things before the final move to Pagosa Springs… Left yesterday…

I can’t see this well on the phone, but I think it’s Wolf Creek Pass… Or somewhere thereabouts…

Double rainbow… Realized as I drove, I had stopped at mile 444… Will try to remember to share a better pic… Gotta stop using the camera that I can’t share on the fly…

Amarillo this morning… That’s some gray “yaller”…. Definitely lost a little magic along the way some where…

Well….

I made these energy wands recently, crystals and metals cast in resin inside a test tube…

Either the resin expanded faster than the glass… or He just didn’t like waiting in the car while I stopped for a coffee … there’s a.nice swirly crack in the glass now…

Off to Pagosa this morning…

Grass near my parents’ house, huge hawk (my animal guide) soaring coasting overhead …

The journey really began once I passed the usual exits in Birmingham and took off NW…

My vision/eyesight even took a shift, like having field of vision framed by blades of grass/glass/light : rainbow-colored, flickering …

It finally expanded to my peripheral vision, leaving simply
magical impressions layered over everything …

Then I made a stop at Natural Bridge … next post!
